Kathmandu, Aug 27: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has shared that all mechanisms of the state have been mobilized for immediate rescue of flood-affected people.

Taking to a social platform today, PM Shah mentioned that the government has been carrying out immediate rescue and relief operation during this disaster hour. 

The country would tackle this disaster with support and coordination of the entire nation, Nepalis across the world and international community, he underlined.

PM Shah opined, "Rescue flights have been made from 6:30 am today. Additional helicopters have been kept standby."

The Nepali Army has successfully rescued 95 Nepalis, 21 Indian nationals from Timure and seven Nepalis from Haku-based tunnel this morning. 

"Work is underway to rapidly transport essential relief materials to the affected areas.

Generators, portable mobile towers, medical equipment, tents, iron and stone cutting machines are being transported to the affected areas," he said, adding that temporary arrangements would be made soon for restoring the mobile network and mobile charging, which will help in establishing contact. 

He stated that a temporary camp has been set up in Nuwakot and arrangements have been made for food and water. 

According to him, the collection of information from the drone survey is in its final stage, which will help with efficient rescue and relief.

"During the rescue operation, priority will be given to the sick, elderly, women and children in the helicopter initially.

We request everyone to wait for the rescue and relief with patience and restraint and face this disaster.

With hope and faith, we all will have to face this disaster together," he said.
