Rupandehi, Oct 19: The second phase of closed training for Nepal's Women's U-19 national cricket team, held at Bhairahawa in Rupandehi in preparation for the forthcoming ICC Women's U-19 Cricket World Cup and Asia Cup, concluded on Sunday.
The training programme, spanning thirteen days, took place at Siddharth Cricket Stadium in Bhairahawa. A total of twenty-eight female cricket players, selected from all seven provinces, participated in this training initiative.
The players received instruction from Mahesh Rijal, a former national cricket player and current U-19 team coach, who also serves as a coach for ICC Women's U-19 cricket.
According to Prashant Malla, former president of the Rupandehi Cricket Association, the closed training was designed to enhance player capabilities and facilitate preparation for the tournament.
The ICC Women's U-19 World Cup is scheduled to be jointly hosted by Nepal and Bangladesh during January-February 2027. The closed training programme is anticipated to provide valuable preparation for the players as they prepare for upcoming international competitions.
