Kathmandu, Oct 29: Chief Justice Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma has said he was surprised to see the news stories written by linking him in various media.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, Chief Justice Dr Sharma made it clear that the news stories showing his connection were false, fabricated and disseminated with the mala fide intention. It has caused sheer confusion among the public, he argued.

“I deplore such baseless, false and fabricated news stories,” the statement read. Chief Justice Sharma also requested everyone not to be swayed by such fabricated news.

Meanwhile, Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal also refuted news stories carried by some media showing his links. He said the news with wrong intention was spreading confusion among the public.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Justice Phuyal made it clear that allegations made against him were false and misleading.

"I am committed to protecting independent judiciary and fair justice,” he vowed. 

Some media had reported high level officials' communications with Inam Sapkota, an intermediary.
